How does the rubber membrane work inside a 160L water press?
In a water (bladder) press the membrane is the central component that expands when it is filled with water. As it inflates it presses the fruit pulp gently against the perforated wall of the press basket and squeezes the juice out. Because the pressure is spread evenly across the whole surface, the press reaches a high juice yield while treating the fruit gently.
How should the membrane be cleaned and cared for to extend its life?
After every pressing, rinse the membrane thoroughly with clean water to remove pulp and juice residue, since fruit acids can attack the rubber over time. Let it dry completely before storage and keep it away from direct sunlight, heat sources and sharp objects. Correct cleaning and dry storage are the main factors that determine how long the membrane lasts.
How do I know this membrane will fit my press?
This membrane is designed specifically for 160-litre presses.
