Frequently asked questions about 104616
What kind of closure does this bottle need?
The inside diameter of the mouth of the bottle is 18 mm and suitable for 29 mm crown corks or traditional champagne corks with a wire basket (muselet). The choice depends on the style — crown corks for geuze and lambic, champagne corks for sparkling wines and champagne-style drinks.
Why prefer green glass to clear?
The green glass filters out some of the UV radiation, protecting the contents from light reactions in which hop compounds react with UV radiation and produce unpleasant flavors. Therefore, green glass is particularly suitable for hopped beers, geuze and lambic, which are stored for a long time.
What does 16 bar pressure tolerance mean in practice?
16 bar is the burst pressure limit. The normal operating pressure for bottle fermentation and champagne is 5-8 bar, which gives a large safety margin. During post-fermentation, always monitor the pressure with a pressure gauge and avoid exceeding the working pressure to avoid deformation or breakage.
Can these bottles be reused?
Yes. These bottles are designed to be reused. Wash thoroughly after each use, especially around the mouth for chips and cracks, and disinfect before filling. A damaged bottle must be disposed of, as structural weakness can lead to rupture under pressure.
How many bottles are in one package?
Each pack contains 24 bottles in a strong cardboard box with partitions to prevent breakage during transport and storage. The packaging is also well suited for long-term storage of bottled beverages in the cellar.
