How does the controller regulate fermentation temperature?
It reads the tank temperature with its sensor and opens the solenoid valve to circulate cooling (or heating) medium until the set point is reached; the 0.1 °C resolution lets you hold a narrow band, which matters because yeast activity and aroma depend strongly on a stable temperature.
What does the IP65 rating mean for where it can be used?
IP65 means it is dust-tight and protected against low-pressure water jets, so it tolerates the wash-downs and splashes of a cellar or production room; it is not, however, meant to be submerged.
Can one unit serve several tanks?
Yes. It is built to be mobile and moved between vessels, or left as a permanent controller on one tank; for controlling several tanks at once you would use one controller per vessel and can network them with the PC software.
Where should the temperature sensor be placed for accurate readings?
Fit the sensor in the tank's thermowell or against the tank wall at mid-liquid height, away from the cooling inlet, so it reads a representative product temperature rather than the coldest spot; a poorly placed sensor makes the valve cycle and the temperature swing.
