How should the filter sock be cleaned and stored?
Rinse it thoroughly right after pressing, before pulp dries and clogs the weave, then wash with warm water and let it dry completely before storage to prevent mould and odours. It is reusable, so proper drying greatly extends its life.
Does a denser sock affect pressing time or yield?
A finer weave filters more thoroughly but lets juice through more slowly, so pressing may take a little longer. For very pulpy fruit, pre-pressing or a coarser first pass helps avoid clogging.
