What does 0.5-1 micron density mean in practice?
A density of 0.5-1 micron means that the plates retain very fine particles, including most yeast cells and turbidity-causing compounds. The result is a crystal clear drink suitable for bottling. This is a fine filtration step, which is ideal for the last step before bottling the wine or juice.
What drinks can I filter with these plates?
The plates are suitable for wines, fruit juices, ciders, meads and similar clear drinks. They are not suitable for unfiltered products with a lot of sediment — in this case, use a coarser pre-filter first. For beer, fine plates are usually only used for certain filtered styles.
Do the plates also fit into other filter housings?
These 22cm plates are specially designed for the Vinoferm Max filter housing. They may also fit into other housings of the same diameter, but we recommend checking the dimensions before use to ensure a proper seal and filtration performance.
Can the tiles be recycled?
The filter plates are intended for single use. After filtration, they become filled with particles and cannot be cleaned effectively without compromising the filtration quality and hygiene. Replace with new plates for each filtration.
How to store records?
Store the discs in their original packaging in a dry and clean place, away from strong odors and direct sunlight. Properly stored plates retain their filtration properties for a long time. Before use, rinse them briefly with clean water as recommended by the manufacturer.
