How much powder can it mix per cycle, and why is that less than 14 litres?
The 14-litre drum is rated for about 5 kg of powder per batch. It is deliberately not filled to the top: the empty headroom is what lets the powder tumble and fold over itself, which is how an even blend is achieved. Overfilling reduces mixing quality.
How long should one mixing cycle run?
The manufacturer's optimal cycle is 6–8 minutes at the fixed 46 rpm. Running much longer rarely improves homogeneity and with some powders can cause de-mixing or heat build-up, so the recommended window is a good default.
Why is the rotation speed relatively low?
At 46 rpm the powder cascades gently instead of being pinned to the drum wall by centrifugal force. For dry powder blending, gentle tumbling at a moderate speed generally gives a more uniform result than spinning fast.
What materials and industries is it intended for?
It is built for food and pharmaceutical powder blending and suits both small-series and continuous industrial use. As a tumbling drum mixer it works best with free-flowing dry powders; very wet, sticky or strongly cohesive materials are outside its intended use.
