Frequently Asked Questions
What fruits is this press suitable for?
Alfa 40 is designed for pressing grapes, cherries, plums and apples. 70 L beech wood basket and 350 bar working pressure make it an ideal choice for soft and medium hard fruits. For apples, we recommend pre-crushing to achieve the best juice yield.
What is the maximum amount of grapes per pressing cycle?
The press holds up to 250 kg of grapes per cycle in a 70 L basket (Ø400 mm inner diameter, 550 mm height). The actual yield depends on the maturity and variety of the fruit and the pressing technique used.
Are the food contact parts stainless steel?
Yes. The rotating collecting tub and pressing plate are made of stainless steel, which ensures hygienic processing and corrosion resistance. The basket is made of steamed beech wood — a traditional food-grade material for winemaking.
What electrical connection is required?
The press works on a standard 220V single-phase power supply with a power of 700W. No special electrical connection is needed — the device can be connected directly to a household socket, which makes it suitable for home and small use.
How does a rotary sump work?
The tub rotates on its base, allowing the operator to position the 1" GAS butt-weld fitting as needed to collect juice in tanks or containers. This improves workflow and prevents juice spillage during pressing.
