How long does the container keep food warm after unplugging?
After unplugging, the AmerBox thermal container keeps food at safe serving temperatures for up to 4 hours thanks to its double HDPE impact-resistant insulating walls. It is ideal for catering, outdoor events and food transport where mains power is not available.
Can it be used for both hot and cold foods?
Yes. The container maintains both high and low content temperatures, so it can be used to transport both warm dishes and chilled food. Only the heating function requires power; the insulation works passively in both directions.
What GN containers can fit there?
The chamber accommodates standard GN 1/1 and GN 1/2 containers in different heights: 12 pcs GN 1/1 (H) 20 mm, 6 pcs GN 1/1 (H) 65 mm, 4 pcs (H) 100 mm, 3 pcs (H) 150 mm, 2 pcs (H) 200 mm or 6 pcs GN 1/2 (H) 150 mm.
Is the thermal container waterproof?
AmerBox is IPX3 rated, which means it is protected against water splashes up to 60° from the vertical. It can withstand splashes during cleaning and use, but should not be submerged or pressure washed.
How is the heating temperature regulated?
After connecting to the 220-240V/200W mains, the heating temperature can be set via the control panel and monitored on the large LED display. The maximum chamber temperature is 68°C, which is suitable for safe storage and serving of ready meals.
