Comparison with Standard Oil Pump

Oil change: With the new Premier pump, oil changes or filtering are rarely needed. The pump has a gas ballast function that prevents water from remaining in the oil. Therefore, the oil stays clean and clear even after 30 or more uses. Oil change is only necessary after 20 or more uses. In comparison, a standard vacuum pump requires oil changes and filtering every 4-5 uses (when using a new 3/8-inch vacuum hose). This pump should only use Robinair Premium high vacuum pump oil or JB Industries Black Gold vacuum pump oil. These can be purchased from Harvest Right, Amazon, and other sources. Do not use Dairyland vacuum pump oil in the Premier pump.

Vacuum pressure: In both cold and hot conditions, the Premier pump can create a deeper vacuum than the standard pump. In cold conditions, the difference is 0.05 Pascal for the Premier pump and 0.08 Pascal for the standard pump. However, in warm conditions, the difference is much greater: 0.05 Pascal for the Premier pump and 2.05 Pascal for the standard pump. Thus, the Premier pump is barely affected by warm environmental conditions. When temperature rises, it creates vacuum much better than the standard pump. External heat barely affects the Premier pump. It creates the same deep vacuum even in warmer environments.

Noise level: The Premier pump is significantly quieter than the standard pump, 52 decibels compared to 64 decibels. An industrial pump at 52 decibels is about as quiet as a refrigerator.

Oil mist filter: Both pumps are equipped with oil mist filters. However, the Premier pump's oil mist filter prevents oil from spraying completely and lasts much longer.

Energy consumption: The Premier pump uses less energy than the standard pump (187 watts compared to 218 watts).

Current draw: In hot conditions at final vacuum pressure, the standard pump draws 2.1 amps, while the Premier pump uses only 1.7 amps. Thus, the Premier pump is more efficient.

Weight: The Premier pump is easier to move as it weighs 5 pounds less than the standard pump (14.5 kg compared to 16.8 kg).

Lifespan: The Premier pump is more durable and lasts longer than the standard pump.
