What is the difference between the E2 and E10 slicing discs?
The E2 disc cuts thinner slices (around 2 mm) — ideal for cucumbers and salad vegetables. The E10 disc produces 10 mm slices for stews, ratatouille and oven dishes. Both are included in the standard set.
Can additional cutting discs be purchased separately?
Yes — Fimar offers a wide range of slicing, dicing and grating discs beyond the included E2/E10/D10/Z4/H10. FERMETECH stocks the most common discs and can order specialised ones on request.
Are the inlets sized for whole vegetables?
The double inlet design fits most produce: the oval inlet (155 × 75 mm) handles long items like cucumbers and zucchini, the round inlet (Ø 56 mm) suits round items like carrots and potatoes.
Does the safety microswitch interrupt operation if the lid is removed?
Yes — the safety microswitch on the handle stops the cutter immediately when the lid is opened, protecting the operator from contact with rotating discs.
Is operator training required for HoReCa use?
Basic training is recommended for staff safety and disc-changing efficiency. FERMETECH provides on-site or video-based training and an Estonian-language operator manual upon request.
