Is this ball valve suitable for food contact?
Yes. The faucet is made of AISI 304 stainless steel, which is a food grade material and widely used in winemaking, brewing and dairy industries. It meets the hygiene requirements for direct contact with wine, beer, wort and other food liquids.
What fittings is it compatible with?
The faucet has a DIN 25 male thread connection on one side and a DIN 25 female thread connection with a nut on the other side. It fits all standard DIN 25 fittings and the nut can be tightened with a DIN 25-32 fitting wrench.
How to clean and maintain the faucet?
Rinse the faucet with warm water after each use and clean periodically with a food-safe detergent. Move the lever during cleaning to flush the inner ball. During intensive use, loosen the nut connection from time to time and check the condition of the seals.
What is the difference between AISI 304 and AISI 316?
AISI 304 is a standard food grade stainless steel suitable for wine, beer and most food liquids. AISI 316 also contains molybdenum, giving greater resistance to chlorides and aggressive environments. In normal cellar and brewery use, the AISI 304 offers excellent value for money.
Can the faucet be used with hot liquids?
Yes. AISI 304 stainless steel withstands the temperatures associated with CIP washing, hot water rinsing and transfer of warm wort or mash. Always check the temperature limit of the gasket material and avoid sudden temperature changes to extend the life of the gaskets.
