How should I care for the brush after cleaning bottles?
Rinse it thoroughly under warm running water to flush out any cleaning agent and residue, then hang it to dry with the bristles pointing down. This lets water drain away from the handle and prevents moisture from sitting in the bristle base, which is where mould and odours tend to start.
Will the bristles scratch the inside of my bottles?
No. Nylon is softer than glass, so normal scrubbing will not mark the surface. If you meet stubborn dried-on residue, soak the bottle in a cleaning solution first and let it loosen, rather than pressing harder with the brush.
Can I use the brush with hot water and cleaning chemicals?
Yes, it works well with warm water and the cleaning agents normally used in home brewing. Avoid boiling water, however, as very high temperatures can soften nylon bristles over time and shorten the brush's life.
Why pick a 45 cm brush rather than a shorter one?
The length is what lets the bristles reach all the way to the bottom of taller 0.5 L bottles and pass through narrow necks. A shorter brush often leaves an uncleaned ring of residue at the base of the bottle where deposits build up.
