Is PET material safe for food and beverages?
Yes. The fermenter is made of food-grade PET material and is completely BPA-free, making it safe for fermenting beer, wine, cider and other beverages. The material is also oxygen-resistant, which helps preserve the taste and quality of the product during fermentation and storage.
How to properly clean the fermentation vessel?
Thanks to the thick walls and smooth sides without ribs, the dish is easy to clean both inside and outside. Use warm water with a non-sticky detergent or special disinfectant. Avoid rough brushes and water above 60°C to avoid scratching or deformation of the PET.
Can the ball valve be removed for cleaning?
Yes. 5/16"-7/16" ball valve installed 5 cm from bottom is fully removable. This allows thorough cleaning and disinfection of both the faucet and the dish, ensuring hygiene between batches.
What is the difference between total volume and fermentable volume?
The total volume is 23 liters, while the recommended fermentable volume is 20 liters. The additional space accommodates the foam (krausen) and CO₂ generated during active fermentation, preventing overfilling through the air lock.
