Frequently asked questions about this product
When should I choose a PET bottle instead of glass?
PET is lightweight and shatterproof, which makes it well suited to high-volume filling, transport and outdoor use where glass would be a hazard. The trade-off is lower heat resistance, so PET is not intended for hot-fill or pasteurisation at the temperatures glass can take.
The bottles are sold without caps. What closures do I need?
These bottles have a 38mm neck, so you need matching 38mm caps, which are ordered separately. Choosing a closure with the same neck size and thread is what makes the bottle seal, so confirm the cap matches before filling a batch.
Can PET bottles be reused or recycled?
PET is widely recyclable and should go into plastic recycling at end of life. Reuse is possible for short periods if you wash gently in lukewarm water, but avoid hot water that can deform the bottle, and replace bottles that look cloudy, scratched or misshapen.
Are these bottles suitable for carbonated drinks and what are the temperature limits?
Keep PET bottles away from direct heat and sunlight, as warmth softens the material and accelerates flavour loss. For carbonated products use a bottle and cap rated for pressure, and never fill PET with near-boiling liquid the way you might with glass.
