Frequently asked questions about this product
Does this spray ball set include the gasket and clamp needed to install it?
No. You receive the spray ball mount with its 3-inch Tri-Clamp ferrule and 1/2-inch MPT inlet thread, but the 3-inch TC gasket and the Tri-Clover clamp are not included and must be bought separately to make a leak-tight connection.
How does a static CIP spray ball clean a tank if it does not rotate?
Cleaning solution pumped in through the 1/2-inch MPT inlet is forced out through a fixed pattern of holes and sheets down across the tank walls, rinsing them by flow rather than by spinning. Effective coverage therefore depends on supplying enough flow and pressure, not on moving parts.
What flow and pressure does it need to clean properly?
Because the ball relies on liquid throw rather than rotation, the CIP pump must deliver enough flow to keep the jets reaching the full tank diameter; too little pressure leaves un-rinsed dead zones near the top of the vessel. Match the ball to your tank size and pump capacity.
How do I maintain the spray ball and keep the holes clear?
Periodically unscrew it and inspect the holes, since pulp, yeast or scale can plug individual jets and leave streaks of uncleaned wall. Soaking it in a caustic or acid CIP solution and back-flushing the holes restores an even spray pattern.
