Frequently asked questions about 36540
What tool do I need to install these crown caps?
You need a 29mm crown cap installer - either a table-mounted or manual model. The fitter presses the edge of the cap into the mouth of the bottle, creating a pressure-resistant closure. Make sure the mount is set to 29mm high, as some models also fit 26mm beer caps.
Can crown caps be reused after opening?
No, crown caps are disposable. After pressing and removing, the metal edge has permanently changed and the plastic seal has shrunk, so they no longer guarantee a reliable pressure-resistant closure. Always use new caps for each bottling.
Which bottles are suitable for 4 bar heights?
Only use sparkling wine or champagne bottles with thick glass walls and reinforced necks. Standard wine bottles cannot safely withstand an internal pressure of 4 bar and may break during aging or storage.
Are these caps suitable for bottling beer?
These are 29mm high for sparkling wine bottles. Regular beer bottles use 26mm crown caps, so these won't fit. For bottling beer, choose caps suitable for the type of bottle.
What is the maximum pasteurization temperature?
The plastic seal withstands standard pasteurization temperatures, usually up to 70-75°C. Avoid exceeding these temperatures or using caps for steam sterilization, as the seal may deform and the seal may lose its integrity.
