SOLUTION 1

BEGINNER KIT

The easiest way to start: choose a ready-made starter kit — everything you need in one box.

Buying the equipment separately

The process (4 weeks)

  1. Preparation → Sanitise everything
  2. Mixing → Concentrate + 23L of water + yeast, or apple juice
  3. Fermentation → 7-10 days @ 20-25°C. Yeast nutrients here and our yeast selection here
  4. Bottling → Add 5 g/L of sugar
  5. Maturing → 2-4 weeks

✅ Result: 22L of quality cider

SOLUTION 2

INTERMEDIATE

Core equipment

Two options:

A) Fresh apple juice
  • 70% sweet + 30% tart varieties
  • Pasteurisation at 75°C
  • Controlled fermentation at 18-20°C
B) Quality extract
  • Professional yeast management
  • Precise temperature control

✅ Result: 35-50L of premium cider

⚠️ Avoid:
  • Insufficient sanitising
  • Wrong temperature
  • Maturing for too short a time
  • Excessive air contact
Flavour variations:
  • Dry - let it ferment fully
  • Sweet - stabilise + sugar syrup
  • Spiced - add cinnamon/ginger
  • Fruity - blend in cherry/plum juice
