      Do I need a separate gasket and clamp to use this fitting?

      Yes. The fitting is supplied without a gasket, so to complete a leak-tight Tri-Clamp connection you also need a food-grade seal (for example EPDM or silicone) and a matching clamp ring of the same Tri-Clamp size.

      How is the hose attached to this fitting?

      The hose end of the fitting is inserted into the hose and secured with a hose clamp, while the Tri-Clamp end connects to other equipment. Matching the hose's inner diameter to the fitting ensures a tight, hygienic joint without leaks.

      Can this fitting be cleaned in place (CIP) or sterilised?

      Yes. The gasketless Tri-Clamp design and AISI 316 stainless steel withstand the hot cleaning and CIP routines common in food production, and because the joint separates quickly the product-contact surfaces can also be inspected and cleaned by hand.

      Why is AISI 316 stainless steel used instead of AISI 304?

      AISI 316 has higher corrosion resistance, especially against acidic juices, brines and cleaning chemicals, so it is better suited to prolonged food contact than 304 and supports a long service life in juice, dairy, beer and wine lines.

      Does the Tri-Clamp connection limit the operating pressure?

      The fitting is rated for up to 16 bar working pressure, but the practical limit of a clamp joint also depends on the gasket and clamp used and on the line temperature. Staying within the rated pressure and using a correctly sized clamp keeps the connection secure.
