Frequently asked questions about this product
What is the 0.1 mm mesh designed for?
The 0.1 mm (100 micron) single-element mesh is for fine filtration of liquids in industry. It removes finer matter than coarser screens, but the manufacturer notes it is still not intended to remove suspended particles such as yeast.
What connection fittings does it use?
DIN-standard connection fittings can be ordered separately for installation; they are not included. Match the fittings to your existing DIN pipework, and contact the supplier if you are unsure which size to order.
Does a finer mesh need more careful cleaning?
Yes. A 0.1 mm mesh blinds faster and is more delicate than coarse screens, so clean it more frequently with gentle backflushing and a food-grade alkaline soak. Never scrub with abrasive pads or poke the mesh, as even small damage changes the fine rating.
Why is it not suitable for removing yeast?
Although 100 micron is fine for a strainer, yeast and similar suspended particles are far smaller, so they pass through or rapidly clog the mesh instead of being cleanly separated. Fining, settling or centrifuging is the right approach for those.
