Frequently asked questions about this product
What is the difference between P8 and P5 panels?
The P8 manages up to 8 fermentation tanks independently compared to 5 with P5. Both offer automatic and manual modes. The P8 uses 4 digital displays shared between 8 channels. P8 is better for growth beyond 5 fermenters.
Can the P8 control heating as well as cooling?
The P8 primarily controls the refrigeration system for cooling. For heating such as malolactic fermentation, a separate circuit is needed. The panel controls solenoid valves regulating coolant flow to each tank independently.
What if I only have 3 fermenters now?
You can start with any number from 1 to 8. Unused channels remain dormant until you connect more fermenters. No reconfiguration needed — a future-proof investment.
What temperature range can P8 maintain?
The range depends on your refrigeration system, but P8 can set targets from approximately 0 to 30 degrees Celsius — covering cold stabilisation, white wine (12-18C), red wine (20-28C), and malolactic fermentation.
Does FERMETECH offer complete cooling packages?
Yes, FERMETECH supplies complete packages including P8 panel, glycol chiller (CRIO series), temperature probes, solenoid valves, and all tubing and fittings.
