    What does this 40-plate filter press do?

    It clarifies wine and juice in wineries and beverage plants by passing the liquid through 40 stacked filter plates of 400 x 400 mm. That gives a filtering surface of 8.8 m². The plates and cloths trap the solids and leave a clear must or wine.

    What flow rates can it handle?

    Must flows at 5.2-17.6 hl/h and lees (heavier sediment) at 2.6-7.9 hl/h, depending on how cloudy the liquid is. Clearer liquid runs faster; turbid lees run slower. You match the rate to the clarity you are filtering.

    What comes included for running it?

    It includes a piston feed pump with expansion vessel, safety valve, pressure switch and gauge, plus DIN 40 F ball valves, pressure gauges and a drip tray with drain valve. Liquid-presence probe, blind plate and polypropylene filter cloths are also supplied. So it arrives ready to plumb in.

    What power and voltage does it need?

    Installed power is 0.75 kW on a 400 V / 3-phase / 50 Hz supply. That is a light load for the throughput it gives. Confirm your three-phase supply before installation.

    How is it closed and moved?

    The AISI 304 stainless frame is on wheels and uses manual hydraulic closing to clamp the plate stack. The wheels let you reposition it in the cellar between jobs. At 700 kg, plan a firm floor for it.
