Coopers English Bitter malt is the ideal ingredient for brewing one of the most popular and best-loved styles of beer ever. The 1.7 kg tin of English Bitter malt makes 23 litres of beer. Simply pour the contents into a pot of hot water, then add the desired sugar. The result, at the end of the fermentation and brewing process, is a typical English Bitter, characterised by its copper colour, floral aroma, strong, bitter taste, medium body and creamy foam. Like all beers of this style originating in Great Britain, it should be served at a temperature of between 11 and 14°C. Coopers English Bitter malt makes an ideal beer to accompany a classic barbecue menu of steaks and fries.

Items required: Fermenter, tank, densimeter, cylinder, tube, decanter, scoop, sanitiser, bottles, capper, corks.
Preparation: Sanitise equipment. Dissolve 1kg sugar in 3L hot water. Add malt, mix well. Add cold water to 23L (21-27°C). Add yeast, stir after 15min. Ferment 7-10 days at stable temperature. Check density (target 1004-1006). Transfer to sanitised tank. Add 5-6g sugar/L. Bottle and store vertically.
