Description
Brewer's Refractometer with Automatic Temperature Compensation
Professional refractometer for brewers ensures accurate wort density measurement throughout the brewing process. The measuring scale of 0-18° PLATO (with 0.1° accuracy) allows monitoring the quality of both wort and malt rinsing water.
Technical features:
- Automatic temperature compensation between 10-30°C
- Durable aluminum housing
- Simple calibration system
- Accurate optical measurement based on liquid refractive index
Kit includes:
- Refractometer
- Pipette for sampling
- Calibration screwdriver
- Practical storage case
- Cleaning cloths
The refractometer's measuring principle is based on the relationship between liquid density and refractive index, enabling quick and accurate determination of wort parameters. Measurement results are comparable to classical hydrometer readings, where pure water has a specific gravity of 1.000 g/cm³.

Frequently asked questions about this product
What does this brewer's refractometer measure and how?
It reads wort density on a 0–18 °Plato scale to 0.1° accuracy from the refractive index of just a drop of liquid placed on the prism. It lets you monitor both wort strength and the gravity of malt rinsing (sparge) water through the brew.
What does automatic temperature compensation do?
ATC adjusts the reading for sample temperature between 10–30 °C, so you get a consistent result without manual correction in that range. Outside that band you should let the sample come closer to the compensated range first.
What comes in the kit and how do I calibrate it?
The kit includes the refractometer, a sampling pipette and a calibration screwdriver, and it uses a simple calibration system. Zero it on distilled water with the screwdriver before a session for accurate readings.
How do I look after it?
It has a durable aluminium housing; wipe the prism and cover plate clean and dry after every sample so dried sugar does not skew the optics. Store it dry and recheck calibration periodically.
