Usage: David Heath's interpretation of the classic London Porter is designed to show how traditional British brews can provide complexity even at low alcohol levels. The recipe uses a wide range of dark malts to recreate the body and colour that characterise porters from the London tradition. The beer kit is designed for 20L for fermentation.
Features: In the recipe sheet that comes with it is possible to cut out a label ready made for the Bishop Tap Handle! Contains 5.2 kg of crushed malt: Pilsner malt, Brown malt, Caramel 300, Carafa III. Hops: East Kent Goldings. Yeast: Fermentis S-04.
Technical data: Style: Porter. Alcohol content: approx. 5.3%. Expected OG: approx. 1,055. FG: approx. 1,015. IBU: approx. 34 – moderately bitter. Color: 56 EBC - dark brown. Mash at 65°C for 60 minutes. Boil for 60 minutes. Add hops according to the instructions on the hop bags. Ferment at approx. 20°C. Add 6g sugar per liter of beer when bottling, and let it carbonate at 20-28°C for about 14 days before storing in a cool place. CO2 volume in keg: about 2.3
