Description
Pump Flojet G56 pneumatic 3/8PS-3/8PS-1/4B for beer
Usage: The Flojet G56 is a professional beer pump used in the beverage industry for dispensing beer from keg to tap. This type of beer pump is considered essential for any long draw keg system, stadiums, or situations where beverages need to be delivered up to 10 stories high in buildings.
Features: For most economical operation this pump should be driven using an oil-free air compressor (which you can purchase at any hardware store). If however you do not have an air compressor you can drive this pump with CO2/Nitrogen or other compressed gas cylinders. The increased pressure in the beverage line prevents dissolved gas in the beverage coming out in the beer causing foaming at the tap. These beer pumps are ideally used in conjunction with a FOB.
Technical data: Comes complete with 9.5mm/12.7mm stepped barb. Barbed air/gas inlet.

Frequently asked questions about this product
What type of draft systems require a beer pump like the Flojet G56?
Long draw draft systems — where kegs are stored remotely from taps (typically over 7 meters) — require a beer pump to push beer through extended lines. This is common in stadiums, large restaurants, bars with basement keg storage, and commercial events. The pump compensates for friction loss in long beer lines.
What drives the pump — air compressor or CO2?
The Flojet G56 is pneumatic and can be driven by either compressed air or CO2/nitrogen gas. Many commercial installations use a dedicated air compressor, while smaller setups may use a CO2 or nitrogen regulator. The pump itself does not contact gas with the beer, preventing foaming.
Why does this pump prevent foaming better than direct gas pressure?
Direct gas pressure on long runs creates excessive turbulence and over-carbonation. The Flojet uses a diaphragm mechanism that pushes beer mechanically without introducing gas into the liquid stream, maintaining proper carbonation levels from keg to tap.
What maintenance does this pump require?
Regular cleaning with beer line cleaner is essential — follow the same schedule as your draft lines (every 2 weeks minimum). Inspect the diaphragm annually and replace if it shows wear. The included fittings should be checked for tight connections during routine maintenance.
Does FERMETECH offer installation guidance for long draw systems?
Yes, FERMETECH provides technical support for draft system design and installation. Long draw systems require careful planning of line diameter, glycol cooling for lines, pump placement, and regulator pressure settings. Contact FERMETECH for system design assistance.
