Description
Precise Beer Wort Hydrometer with Thermometer - Professional Measuring Instrument
High-quality beer wort hydrometer with integrated thermometer allows precise measurement of important indicators in beer and wine making. The instrument shows results in PLATO degrees with 0.1-degree accuracy.
Hydrometer Technical Specifications:
- Length: 37 centimeters
- Thermometer range: 0-40°C
- Temperature accuracy: 0.1°C
- Plato accuracy: 0.1
- Required measuring cylinder volume: 500ml
Determining Alcohol Content for Wine:
The hydrometer is also ideal for determining wine alcohol content. For measurement:
- Measure sugar content before fermentation
- Measure sugar content after fermentation
- Add the readings together
- Divide the result by 7.5
Example: If initial sugar content is +80 and final is -5, then alcohol content is (80+5)/7.5 = 11.33%.
Professional measuring instrument ensures accurate results for both home and small-scale beer and wine makers.

Frequently asked questions about this product
What does this hydrometer measure on the 10–20 °Plato scale?
It measures wort and must density in °Plato to 0.1° accuracy on the 10–20 band, with a built-in thermometer (0–40 °C, 0.1 °C). The reading tells you the sugar content of your wort before and during fermentation.
Why does it have a built-in thermometer?
Density readings depend on temperature, so the built-in thermometer lets you check the sample temperature and correct or standardise the reading. Reading at the calibrated temperature is what makes the gravity figure reliable.
What do I need and how do I read it?
It is 37 cm long and needs a 500 ml measuring cylinder to float freely in the sample. Lower it gently, let it settle, and read the scale where the liquid surface crosses it.
Why are there different Plato ranges?
Each hydrometer covers a narrow band — here 10–20 °Plato — which gives finer resolution than a single wide-range instrument. Choose the range that matches your wort gravity so the reading lands on the scale.
