    • Frequently asked questions about this product

How do I read the result accurately?

Dip a fresh strip into the liquid, then compare its colour against the built-in colour chart in good, neutral light. Reading immediately after the recommended reaction time and avoiding strong tinted lighting gives the most reliable match.

Why measure pH when making wine, beer or kombucha?

pH affects fermentation stability, microbial safety and taste balance. Monitoring it helps you spot a batch drifting out of its healthy range before problems develop, rather than relying on flavour alone.

Can I test deeply coloured liquids such as red wine?

Yes, but a strongly coloured sample can tint the pad and make the colour comparison harder. Judging the reacted zone against the chart edge, or diluting a small sample with distilled water, makes the reading clearer.

How should the strips be stored so they stay reliable?

Keep them in their closed container in a dry place away from humidity, heat and direct light. Moisture and fumes can pre-react the pads, so only take out a strip just before use.
