Frequently asked questions about 006.043.4
What is the recommended dose?
The recommended dose is 1-3 grams of Granucol FA per 10 liters of wine. Start with a lower dose for light color correction and increase up to 3 g/10 L for heavily oxidized or discolored wines. Always do a small test first to find the optimal dose.
How long should the charcoal stay in the wine?
After adding the charcoal, let the wine stand for 24 hours while stirring vigorously. This contact time is sufficient for efficient adsorption of unwanted coloring compounds and oxidation products. Longer contact can also start to remove the desired aromas, so follow the recommended time frame.
How to remove carbon after processing?
After the 24-hour contact time is over, remove the carbon from the clear wine sediment in siphons or by filtration. For best clarity, we recommend using a clarifying agent such as bentonite and then filtering with a plate or cartridge filter.
Is Granucol FA also suitable for beer or juice?
Yes. In addition to wine, Granucol FA is suitable for beer brewing to remove off-flavors and color correction, and juice production where decolorization and clarification are required. Adjust the dose according to the intensity of the defect.
Does it affect the aroma and taste of the wine?
When used in the recommended dose, Granucol FA preserves the original character of the wine, while removing unwanted brown tones and oxidation residues. Overdosing can remove desired aromas, so it's important to test dose and stay within the 1-3g/10L range.
