    How does a hydropress (water press) actually press the fruit?

    It presses using water pressure rather than a mechanical screw. Mains water fills a central membrane that expands and gently presses the fruit pulp against the perforated stainless steel basket wall (610 mm diameter), so the juice flows out. The maximum working pressure is 3.0 bar. This gentle, even pressure usually produces cleaner juice with less sediment than a screw press.

    What water connection and pressure does it need to operate?

    Because it is driven by mains water pressure, you connect it to an ordinary water supply. It is designed for a maximum working pressure of 3.0 bar, so make sure your supply does not exceed this and fit a pressure regulator if needed. Keep the operating temperature between 8 and 20 °C.

    How should the press be cleaned and maintained after use?

    Rinse the stainless steel basket and the membrane thoroughly with water straight after each pressing session, before the pulp residue dries on. The stainless steel construction is made to be easy to clean and resists corrosion. Check the membrane regularly for wear and store the unit dry to extend its life.

    Do I need any accessories to use it safely and comfortably?

    The press is equipped with a swing-out mechanism for comfortable handling. For lifting the heavy lid the manufacturer recommends an optional crane, which makes opening and closing safer and more comfortable. The drain pipe sits about 330 mm above the ground, so plan for a collection vessel that fits underneath.

    Why does the fruit need to be crushed before pressing?

    A hydropress is designed to press pulp, not whole fruit. Crushing or milling apples and berries into a mash first breaks the cell walls, which greatly increases juice yield and lets the membrane apply even pressure across the basket. Loading whole fruit gives poor, uneven extraction, so many users pair the press with a separate crusher or mill.
