    Where does a 10 µm cartridge fit in a filtration sequence?

    It works as a coarse pre-filtration step that removes larger particles and lightens the load on the finer filters downstream. Filtration is normally done from coarser to finer ratings, so a 10 µm cartridge is chosen according to how clear or how microbiologically stable you need the finished liquid to be.

    How should I prepare a new cartridge before the first use?

    Rinse it with clean water in the direction of flow to flush out any manufacturing residues and to wet the membrane evenly. Only start running product through once the water runs clear and the cartridge is fully seated in the housing.

    How do I know when the cartridge is exhausted?

    A rising pressure drop and a noticeably slower flow are the main signs that the pores are loading up. The cartridge is a consumable: once flow falls off or clarity drops despite a clean housing, the element should be replaced rather than forced.

    Will this cartridge fit my filter housing?

    It is built to the 30-inch length with a type 7 connection, so it fits standard 30-inch housings using that interface. Always check that your housing uses the same length and connection before ordering replacements.
