Carbonation Lid for Beer Kegs (Sparkling Water), up to 10L/h

This is the easiest way to have continuous sparkling water straight from the tap. Don't waste your time with Sodastream or other more expensive carbonators. This simple device makes it easy to have continuous carbonated water fed directly from your mains water supply. Please read the description below on how to set this up.

Soda Water Carbonator - Keg Reactor Lid
Nothing is more refreshing than having your own sparkling water on tap at home. Sodastream devices are good, but filling those small 1L bottles is troublesome and those small CO2 cylinders run out quickly and are expensive to replace. Solve this problem once and for all with the Continuous Soda Carbonator Keg Reactor Solution.

KegLand has created this very user-friendly lid that attaches to a standard ball lock keg. You can use either our 19L or 9.5L kegs.

All you need to do is:

      1. Place the keg in a refrigerator, kegerator, cold room, or another cool place (ideally below 5°C).
      2. Attach your chosen tap component to the sparkling water outlet.
      3. Connect the CO2 to the gas inlet.
      4. Set your CO2 regulator, which is connected to the gas inlet, to 30-50 psi (higher pressure gives more carbonation, so set your regulator according to the desired carbonation level). NOTE: It is recommended to use a check valve in your CO2 hose. We recommend using a duotight check valve or an integrated valve in the ball lock disconnect.
      5. The first time you use this unit, it's a good idea to purge the air from the top of the keg. To do this, pull the PRV on the keg lid about 5 times in 2-second bursts.
      6. Connect the water mains to the water inlet on the keg lid. We recommend using a check valve for this to prevent sparkling water from flowing back into your home water supply. We recommend a duotight check valve. It's also a good idea to reduce your water mains pressure. Most home water mains pressure is over 100 psi. For this device to work well, the water mains pressure should be 10-15 psi higher than your regulator set pressure (from step 4). To regulate your water pressure, we recommend using an Inline Regulator.

That's it. This simple device provides you with a continuous flow of sparkling water connected to your water mains. A great solution for bars, cafes, restaurants, or home use.

The device can carbonate up to 10 liters per hour if you have sufficient ability to cool the water. The colder the water and the higher the gas pressure (from step 4), the higher the carbonation level. If you want extremely high sparkling water production speed, you can pre-chill the water by placing one (or several) kegs in series before the carbonation reactor. This helps pre-cool the water before it enters the carbonator. Alternatively, you can use a chiller, such as a G40 glycol chiller, to pre-chill the water before it enters the carbonator. If you do this, you can increase the carbonation rate to over 30 liters per hour.

Usage principle: The device uses pressurized carbon dioxide that mixes with cold water, creating carbonated sparkling water. Cold temperature and high pressure help the carbon dioxide mix better with water, forming stable bubbles.

    • Frequently asked questions about KL10955

Who is this cover suitable for?

The lid fits standard ball lock buckets, including 9.5L and 19L sizes. It replaces the original cover and uses the same sealing system, ensuring a leak-proof connection at operating pressure.

What CO2 pressure should I use?

Recommended operating pressure is 30-50 psi. Higher pressure gives more dissolved CO2 and stronger carbonation. Always use a check valve on the CO2 line to prevent water from flowing back into the regulator.

      Why is cold water important?

CO2 dissolves much better in cold water. By keeping the water temperature below 5°C, you will achieve stable carbonation and fine bubbles. Warm water reduces absorption and gives a flat result even at high CO2 pressure.

Can productivity be increased above 10 L/h?

Yes. Pre-cool the water with one or more people in series before the carbonator or connect a glycol cooler like G40. With proper precooling, the productivity can exceed 30 L/h.

Do I need a water pressure regulator?

Yes. Water pressure often exceeds 100 psi, which is too high. Use the Inline regulator to keep the water pressure 10-15 psi higher than the CO2 regulator setting — this ensures stable and reliable carbonation.
