What diameter sensor is this thermal pocket suitable for?
The thermal pocket is designed for a 6.5mm sensor socket and is fully compatible with standard MKII temperature controllers. The internal opening ensures close thermal contact between the sensor and the housing wall, which allows for accurate readings.
Why is it called a weldless thermal pocket?
The weldless design uses a 3/8" threaded connection with an O-ring seal, so no welding is required for installation in a stainless vessel. This allows for faster installation and easier removal for cleaning or replacement.
What material is the thermal pocket made of?
The body is made of stainless steel, which provides excellent corrosion resistance in contact with wort, wine and cleaning chemicals. The stainless construction makes it completely suitable for food and beverage applications.
How is it installed in the dish?
The thermal pocket is designed for internal installation and uses a single O-ring to seal against the vessel wall. The 3/8" thread tightens from the outside, while the 85mm sleeve extends inward to the liquid for temperature measurement.
Is it only compatible with MKII controllers?
It is optimized for MKII controllers thanks to the matching 6.5mm sensor socket, but any temperature probe of the same diameter and sufficient length can be used. Always check the length of the probe against the 85mm casing before installation.
