    • Frequently asked questions about this product

Why use this spanner instead of an ordinary wrench for beer taps?

It is a compact ring spanner only 103 mm long, sized 27 mm to match the back-nuts on short tap shanks. The short body reaches into the cramped space behind a tap tower where a long open-ended wrench cannot turn through a full arc.

      When is it especially useful?

It is recommended when assembling a multi-tap bar such as a 6- or 8-tap TT-Bar, where shanks sit close together and each back-nut must be tightened in a narrow gap between neighbouring taps.

Why is a closed ring head better here than an open jaw?

A ring head grips the nut on all sides, so it is far less likely to slip and round off the corners than an open-ended spanner. On a tightly packed tap line that protects both the nut and the surrounding fittings.

How do I check it fits my taps?

It is made for 27 mm shank back-nuts. Before buying, measure the nut across the flats and confirm it is 27 mm, as shank and collar sizes differ between tap systems.
