Frequently asked questions about this product
How does a cam-lever (camlock) coupling connect and disconnect?
You insert the male adapter into the female coupler and push the two side levers down, which draws the halves together and compresses the gasket; lifting the levers releases it. This allows fast, tool-free connection and disconnection.
When should I replace the gasket?
Replace it when it shows cracks, flattening, swelling or hardening, or whenever the joint weeps despite the levers being fully closed. The gasket is the only sealing element, so its condition determines whether the coupling holds pressure.
Can I connect or disconnect under pressure?
No — relieve line pressure first, because a pressurised camlock can spring apart and spray liquid when the levers are lifted. Always make and break the connection with the line depressurised for safety.
How do I prevent accidental opening during operation?
Fit safety pins or clips through the holes in the levers so vibration or a knock can't lift the cams, especially on pump discharge lines where pulsation tends to work the levers loose over time.
