These capsules are specially designed for sparkling wine bottles with champagne-style necks. The upper 35mm and lower 55mm diameters correspond to typical sparkling wine bottle necks, ensuring a secure fit on the cork and wire cage.

How are these capsules installed?

Polylaminate capsules are installed with a roll encapsulation machine that mechanically forms the material around the bottle neck. They MUST NOT be used with a heat shrink device for PVC capsules as the polylaminate does not react to heat and requires mechanical rolling for proper installation.

What material is polylaminate?

Polylaminate is a multi-layer composite material that combines aluminum foil with plastic layers. It offers excellent formability under mechanical pressure, a presentable appearance and reliable proof of opening thanks to the tear strip. It is widely used to seal high-quality sparkling wine bottles.

What is the function of the tear strip?

The tear strip allows the consumer to easily remove the capsule before opening the bottle. A small strip integrated into the capsule can be pulled to separate the top, exposing the cap and wire cage for removal without a knife or other tool.
