Carbonic Acid Meter for Measuring CO2 Levels in Beer and Carbonated Beverages
Professional carbonic acid meter is a precise device for monitoring CO2 pressure in beer and other carbonated beverages. Suitable for use with 0.25-0.7 liter crown cap bottles, allowing monitoring of secondary fermentation process as well.

How does a CO2 meter work?
The meter is installed on a bottle with a closed crown cap. A built-in needle pierces the cap, allowing the internal CO2 pressure to be measured directly in bars. Based on pressure and beverage temperature, the dissolved CO2 content (g/l or volumes) can be calculated using the standard CO2 solubility table.
Can it be used in post-fermentation?
Yes. The gauge is perfect for monitoring pressure during bottle fermentation and post-fermentation. Regular measurements help determine whether the desired carbonation level is being achieved and prevent over-carbonation and bottle breakage.
Why doesn't it fit 75cl Belgian or Champagne bottles?
Although these bottles have a 26mm crown cap, their neck geometry and reinforced glass shape differ from standard beer bottles. The meter's mounting mechanism does not fit correctly, which damages the sealing and measurement accuracy.
How accurate is the measurement?
The measuring accuracy is 0.1 bar in the entire range from 0 to 6 bar. For best results, make sure the bottle is at a stable temperature before measuring and the needle pierces the cap cleanly. Use temperature corrected CO2 tables when converting pressure to dissolved CO2.
Is it suitable for homebrewers?
Definitely. It is one of the most practical quality control tools for home brewers and small craft brewers, providing reliable data without expensive lab equipment.
