What does the seal-free (sealless) DIN 11851 design mean in practice?
In a DIN 11851 connection the sealing is provided by a separate gasket placed in the union, so this fitting itself is supplied seal-free. When assembling, fit the correct DIN 11851 gasket and tighten the round nut — the metal cone together with the gasket gives the hermetic seal.
Why is AISI 316 stainless steel used here?
AISI 316 contains molybdenum, giving it stronger resistance to acids and chlorides than basic stainless grades. That makes it well suited to acidic juices and to CIP cleaning, helping the fitting stay hygienic and corrosion-free over a long service life.
