What does the seal-free (sealless) DIN 11851 design mean in practice?
In a DIN 11851 connection the sealing is provided by a separate gasket placed in the union, so this fitting itself is supplied seal-free. When assembling, fit the correct DIN 11851 gasket and tighten the round nut — the metal cone together with the gasket gives the hermetic seal.
