Fermenter 26L BrewBuilt X3 Uni jacketed conical unitank stainless steel
⚠️ Important: Weight ~45kg (empty, estimated). Lifting requires forklift or 2 persons. Secure to floor with anchor bolts recommended for stability.
⚠️ Important: Pressure vessel — use under pressure. Max 15psi (1bar). Exceeding working pressure may cause deformation. Use manometer for monitoring. For pressure fermentation, the included PRV is not sufficient — BrewBuilt Pressure Fermentation Kit required (PRV can clog with krausen).
Frequently asked questions about KL37211
What is the maximum working pressure?
Maximum working pressure is 15psi (1 bar). Exceeding this limit can cause permanent deformation of the container. Always monitor the pressure with a manometer and do not block the pressure relief valve. For actual pressure fermentation, a standard PRV is not enough — a special BrewBuilt Pressure Fermentation Kit is required, as the supplied PRV can become clogged with krausen.
Is the BrewBuilt X3 Uni food grade stainless steel?
Yes, the entire tank, including the cooling gap, cone and connections, is made of 304 stainless steel, an industry standard food grade alloy used in the professional brewing industry. It provides excellent corrosion resistance, is easy to clean and disinfect, and does not impart off-flavors to beer or other fermented beverages.
How does an external cooling gap work?
An external cooling gap surrounds the cylindrical part of the tank and circulates glycol or chilled water to control the fermentation temperature. Connect it to a glycol chiller or recirculating cooling system through the dedicated input and output ports. Such indirect cooling ensures stable temperature profiles without direct contact between the coolant and the wort.
What is a 3" butterfly valve used for?
An extra-large 3" butterfly valve at the bottom of the cone allows you to quickly remove sediment, frost and settled yeast during and after fermentation. The wide diameter prevents clogging and allows you to drain the sediment directly into the transparent Flex Chamber collection jar, where you can monitor the contents and separate the viable yeast for collection and reuse.
Can this tank be used for dry hopping under pressure?
Yes, the X3 Uni is designed for dry hopping under pressure when equipped with the BrewBuilt Pressure Fermentation Kit. A floating suction tube picks up clear beer, avoiding hop sediment, and maintaining pressure preserves hop aroma and CO2. Always adhere to a maximum working pressure of 15psi (1 bar) when dry dipping under pressure.
