What does the micron rating of the filter mesh actually mean for my results?
The micron figure is the size of particle the mesh retains, so a finer (lower-micron) element removes smaller sediment; choose the density according to the clarity you need at that stage.
This is a pre-filter — what will it not remove?
It is designed for pre-filtration and removing sediment, not for taking out suspended particles such as yeast, so it should be followed by a finer polishing stage when clear liquid is required.
Why does it use two filter elements?
The dual stainless mesh elements increase the working filtration area and allow staged filtering, which improves throughput and process quality compared with a single element.
How do I clean and maintain the stainless mesh elements?
Because the elements are stainless steel they can be rinsed or back-flushed and reused; clean them gently without harsh abrasion, inspect the mesh for tears, and replace any element that is damaged.
