What is the 1 mm mesh best suited for?
The 1 mm (1000 micron) mesh is a coarse filtration stage. It is well suited to catching larger solids and protecting pumps and downstream equipment, rather than clarifying a liquid. The manufacturer notes it is not designed to remove fine suspended particles such as yeast.
Why are there two filter elements?
The two stainless elements let you keep filtering while one is cleaned, or run both at once to increase capacity and reduce how often you stop during continuous industrial filtration.
How should the mesh be cleaned and stored to last?
Backflush and brush along the weave, then soak in a food-grade alkaline solution to remove residue; rinse and dry before storage. Avoid abrasive pads and sharp tools, which deform the openings and change the rated mesh size.
Can it be ordered in a different mesh density or larger size?
Yes. Mesh density is customizable from 0.05 mm (50 micron) to 8 mm (8000 micron), and larger models up to DN150 are available, so the same design can serve both fine clarification and coarse separation.
