Wine Acidity Regulator - Natural Acid Blend for Fermentation
High-quality three-acid blend for winemaking contains equal parts (33%) of citric acid, tartaric acid, and malic acid. This professional acid blend is specifically designed to enhance the fermentation process and precisely regulate wine acidity.
Usage and Dosage
Easy to dose: 10 grams of acid blend per 10 liters of wine increases acid content by 1 g/l. This ensures optimal acidity level in the fermenting liquid.
Technical Specifications
- Citric acid content: 33%
- Tartaric acid content: 33%
- Malic acid content: 33%
Acidity Measurement
Wine acidity is measured in grams of tartaric acid per liter. To convert acidity expressed in sulfuric acid (French method) to tartaric acid, multiply the result by 1.53.
This acid blend is ideal for both amateur and professional winemakers who want to achieve precisely regulated acidity in their wine.
Frequently asked questions about 003.049.4
How much acid mixture should I add to the wine?
Add 10 g of acid mixture per 10 liters of wine to increase the acidity by 1 g/l. Always measure the initial acidity before dosing and add gradually, tasting in between. The total acidity of normal table wines as tartaric acid is 5–7 g/l.
When is the best time to add an acid mixture?
An acid mixture can be added before fermentation to adjust the acidity of the wort or after fermentation to correct the finished wine. Dissolve the powder in a small amount of wine or water before mixing into the main batch to ensure even distribution.
What is the difference between the three acids in a mixture?
Tartaric acid is the main natural acid in grapes, which gives a certain and stable acidity. Malic acid adds a fresh apple-like character. Citric acid provides a bright note and helps stabilize iron. The 33/33/33 blend provides a balanced acidity profile suitable for most wines.
Is this acid mixture also suitable for fruit wines and cider?
Yes. The mixture is well suited for grape, fruit and country wines and ciders that need acidity correction. Fruits with low acidity such as pears, sweet apples or elderberries especially benefit to achieve the right balance and microbiological stability.
How to store acid mixture?
Store in the original packaging in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and strong odors. If stored correctly, the acid mixture is stable for several years. Always close the package tightly after use to prevent moisture absorption and caking.
