Why install a one-way check valve in a beverage or juice transfer line?
It allows liquid to flow in only one direction and blocks backflow, which protects pumps from running dry, keeps product from draining back out of the line, and helps the system hold its prime between transfers.
How do I install the valve in the correct direction?
A check valve is directional: fit it so the internal flow direction matches the direction your liquid actually travels. Connect it inline with 1-inch (25.4 mm) piping and make sure both sides are properly tightened so the seat seals.
How should the valve be cleaned in food use?
Even though the design is largely maintenance-free, rinse or flush it as part of your normal cleaning cycle after each batch so juice residue and pulp do not dry on the disc and seat, which could keep the valve from sealing fully.
Is AISI 304 stainless steel suitable for acidic juices?
Yes. AISI 304 is rust- and corrosion-resistant and food-safe, which is why it is widely used for fruit juice, wine and similar mildly acidic liquids. For very aggressive or salty media a higher stainless grade may be preferable.
