Why does a tank need a double-acting over- and under-pressure valve?
Sealed tanks face two opposite risks: pressure building up as gas or temperature rises, and a vacuum forming as liquid is drawn off or the contents cool. This valve guards against both, venting excess pressure and admitting air under vacuum, which protects the tank from bulging or, more seriously, collapsing inward.
What do the 35 mbar and 5 mbar activation points mean in practice?
The valve releases excess gas once overpressure reaches about 35 millibar (0.035 bar) and lets air in when underpressure reaches about 5 millibar, with an air-flow capacity around 20 m³/h. These low thresholds are deliberately gentle so the thin tank walls are protected well before pressure reaches a damaging level.
Will it fit my tank, and what is the connection?
It uses a Garolla 40 connection and a stainless steel body, so it suits tanks fitted with a matching Garolla 40 port and nitrogen or inert-gas control systems. Confirm your tank has the corresponding fitting; the supplier recommends specifying the valve together with the tank for a correct match.
What maintenance keeps the valve reliable?
Keep the valve clean and free of dried residue so both the over- and under-pressure mechanisms can move freely and seal properly. Check periodically that it actuates as expected, since a stuck valve can leave the tank unprotected against either pressure or vacuum.
