What is the difference between AISI 304 and AISI 316 for this joint?
AISI 316 contains molybdenum (about 2-3%), which greatly improves resistance to chlorides and acidic environments such as fruit juices, musts and cleaning agents (CIP). In food industry applications with aggressive liquids, AISI 316 is the recommended choice.
Is EPDM gasket suitable for CIP cleaning?
Yes. Food grade EPDM withstands hot water, steam up to approx. 130°C and common alkaline and acidic CIP solutions. It is not recommended to be used in contact with mineral oils or fats — in this case, an NBR or FKM seal should be preferred.
What is the maximum working pressure?
The maximum working pressure is 25 bar at room temperature. At higher temperatures, the pressure class decreases slightly. For safety-critical applications, we recommend keeping at least 25% of the reserve below the rated pressure.
What standard does the 3/4" internal thread meet?
The 3/4" female thread is a BSP (British Standard Pipe) parallel thread widely used in the European food industry. It is compatible with standard 3/4" male thread fittings found on pumps, valves and hose ends.
