Why is AISI 316 stainless steel used instead of 304?

AISI 316 contains molybdenum, which gives it markedly better resistance to the acids in fruit juices and to chloride-bearing cleaning agents. That means it lasts longer in food and beverage duty.

What does the EPDM seal contribute?

EPDM stays elastic and resists the fruit acids and hot cleaning solutions typical of juice and winemaking, keeping the joint leak-free. It is the sealing element, so inspect it and replace it when it hardens.

What is the maximum working pressure?

The fitting is rated up to 25 bar, comfortably covering gravity transfer and pump-fed juice, must and water lines. Stay within that limit.

How do I keep the fitting hygienic?

Rinse and clean it after each use, check the seal regularly and store it clean and dry. Stainless steel and EPDM are easy to clean, but residue left in the bore can still harbour spoilage organisms.
