Heat Exchanger Chillout MKIII Threaded, 30-Plate
The MKIII counterflow heat exchanger is the fastest way to cool your wort to yeast pitching temperature, ensuring a healthy and quick start to the fermentation process. The device is made from high-quality stainless steel and joined with pure copper brazing, which ensures excellent durability and thermal conductivity.
Each plate features a distinctive rippled design that significantly increases the contact surface and improves heat transfer efficiency. The presence of 30 plates enables faster and more efficient cooling, making the brewing process considerably easier.
Operating Principle
The heat exchanger works on a counterflow principle, where hot wort flows through one side of the device while cold water moves in the opposite direction on the other side. The contact between the plates allows heat to quickly transfer from the hot liquid to the cold, rapidly cooling the wort to the appropriate temperature.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Cleaning is simple: connect the water supply to the port where the wort exited and backflush the device for a few minutes to remove all residue. Before use, sanitize with boiling wort or a short StellarSan flush. Warning: do not use StellarSoda for cleaning and do not leave phosphoric acid-based sanitizers in the device for extended periods.
