Water Carbonation Kit 18.9L (Sparkling Water)
A professional and reliable 18.9L water carbonation kit that allows you to produce fresh sparkling water continuously directly from mains water. Perfect for home use, bars, cafés, restaurants, offices, and events. The system connects to your water supply, providing an uninterrupted carbonated water solution.
This complete kit includes all necessary components to start producing sparkling water immediately.
Kit Includes:
- CO2 Carbon Dioxide Cylinder 8L / 6kg (new, filled) – provides sufficient gas supply for carbonation.
- 18.9L Pressure Keg (new, KegLand) – durable stainless steel vessel for chilling and carbonating water.
- Carbonation Lid for Kegs (sparkling water) up to 10L/h – specially designed lid for efficient water carbonation.
- CO2 Regulator KegLand MK4 (single gauge adjustment) – allows precise pressure control.
- 6x8mm Gas Line (1.5m) – blue, suitable for Pygmy cooler – high-quality connection tubing.
- 8mm Duotight Ball Lock Disconnect (black-yellow, liquid) – liquid connection fitting.
- 8mm DuoTight 5/16" x FFL Quick Connector (stainless steel) – durable connection fitting.
- John Guest 1/2" x 8mm Quick Connector – for mains water connection.
- CO2 Ball-Lock Quick Disconnect 5/16" thread (white) – gas connection to the keg.
How the Sparkling Water System Works
The system is simple and efficient to operate:
1️⃣ Chill the Keg
Place the 18.9L pressure keg inside a refrigerator, kegerator, cool room, or any cold environment (ideally below 5°C / 41°F). Colder water results in better carbonation.
2️⃣ Connect Your Dispensing Tap
Attach your preferred dispensing tap to the sparkling water outlet.
3️⃣ Connect CO2 Gas
Connect the CO2 cylinder to the keg gas inlet via the regulator.
4️⃣ Set the Pressure
Adjust the CO2 regulator to 30–50 PSI.
Higher pressure = stronger carbonation
Lower pressure = lighter carbonation
5️⃣ Purge Air (First Use Only)
When using the system for the first time, purge the air from the keg headspace. Pull the PRV valve on the lid about 5 times in 2-second bursts.
6️⃣ Connect Mains Water
Connect your mains water supply to the water inlet post on the keg lid.
⚠️ A check valve is strongly recommended to prevent sparkling water from flowing back into your mains system.
⚠️ It is advisable to reduce mains water pressure. Most domestic water systems exceed 100 PSI. For optimal operation, mains water pressure should be 10–15 PSI higher than your CO2 regulator setting (from step 4).
Continuous Sparkling Water Supply
Once connected, the system provides continuous chilled sparkling water directly from your mains supply.
Ideal for:
- Bars
- Restaurants
- Cafés
- Offices
- Home use
- Catering and events

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the ideal water temperature for carbonation?
For best results, the water should be cooled below 5°C. Colder water absorbs CO2 more efficiently, creating finer and longer-lasting bubbles. Warm water carbonates poorly and releases gas quickly, so always store keg in the refrigerator, kegator or cool room before and during use.
What CO2 pressure should be set on the reducer?
The recommended pressure is between 30 and 50 PSI. Higher pressure produces stronger carbonation, lower pressure produces lighter and softer sparkling water. Adjust to taste and make sure the water mains pressure is 10-15 PSI higher than the reducer setting for optimal operation.
How long does an 8L / 6kg CO2 cylinder last?
A full 6kg CO2 cylinder can typically gasify several thousand liters of water, depending on pressure settings and usage patterns. The actual quantity depends on the water temperature, carbonation level and system density. For commercial use, schedule regular refills to ensure uninterrupted service.
Is a check valve really necessary?
Yes, a non-return valve is strongly recommended at the inlet of the water mains. This prevents carbonated water from flowing back into the household or building water system, which could contaminate drinking water or damage plumbing. This is an important safety feature in any continuous gassing system.
Can this kit be used for commercial purposes?
Absolutely. With a productivity of up to 10L per hour and high-quality KegLand stainless steel components, the set is well suited for bars, cafes, restaurants, offices and event organizers. It provides continuous sparkling water directly from the water mains, a cost-effective alternative to bottled liquids.
