Frequently asked questions about this product
How thick a metal sheet can this 32 mm punch work with?
It punches mild sheet steel up to 3 mm thick and stainless steel up to 1.5 mm thick.
Why choose a punch over a hole saw or step drill?
The punch leaves a clean, burr-free hole with a superior finish, so no filing or cleaning is needed afterwards — unlike carbide drill bits or hole saws.
Do I need to prepare the hole before punching?
Yes. First drill a pilot hole with a stepped bit, then bolt the die and punch together and tighten with a ring spanner until you hear the click of the punch passing through the steel.
What is a typical use for a 32 mm hole in brewing equipment?
It is the right size for installing 2200 W stainless steel heating elements and similar fittings.
