What liquids is this pump suitable for pumping?
Liverani GR MAXI 80 is designed for wine, wort, beer, juices and other edible liquids with a viscosity of up to 50,000 cP. EPDM impeller and AISI 304 body are CE and FDA certified for food contact. For aggressive liquids or different pH ranges, alternative impeller materials (NR, CR, NBR, VMQ) and AISI 316 housing are available on request.
Why does productivity decrease with thicker liquids?
A nominal capacity of 24600-43800 L/h is specified for water at a viscosity of 1 cP. For more viscous liquids such as wort or thick juice, the actual output can be reduced by up to 40% at 1000 cP. For accurate measurements, always consider the actual viscosity of your product and consider using a low speed (900 RPM) for a gentle, steady flow.
How does self-fulfillment work?
The pump is self-priming from depths of up to 6m, meaning it can start dry and draw liquid from a lower tank or sump without manual filling. A flexible EPDM impeller creates the initial vacuum. Make sure suction lines are airtight to ensure reliable filling.
Can the pump work in both directions?
Yes, the GR MAXI 80 is fully reversible. By using the ON/OFF/REVERSE switch (optional), you can reverse the flow direction to empty the pipes, pump back or clean the press. This makes the pump very versatile for basement applications where two-way transmission is required.
Is this pump suitable for an ATEX environment?
The standard GR MAXI 80 is not ATEX certified, but an ATEX explosion proof version is available on request. It is recommended for flammable vapor environments such as spirits production or fuel related applications. Contact us to determine the required ATEX zone and category.
